Bastien Bron aka My name is Fuzzy
Pursuing his project of presenting his songs in new and unexpected forms and playing with the conventions of pop culture, My name is Fuzzy – aka Bastien Bron – presents with COLLECTOR a project that combines images of the past with new technologies. From a Beatles postcard to a Spice Girls poster, Bron’s interactive images appropriate fetishized photographic objects, both collector’s items and ones that are simply old-fashioned. Using augmented reality and other technologies, he brings to life the stars of other eras by usurping their identity and having them perform his own songs.
Through these attempts to superimpose his own image on the stars of the past, he addresses in a humorous way a theme close to his heart: the pursuit of fame and the fantasies that come with it. The result is a reflection on the human condition that is simultaneously critical, funny and nostalgic.
Presented in cooperation with Nebia, the installation was developed during an artist’s residency in Brussels in 2023.
