The city of possibilities

In 2006 the United Arab Emirates decided to begin the project of building an entire city in the middle of the desert. Masdar City which is designated a “green city”, has as its first goal to reach zero CO2 emissions. This project comes at a time of a growing ecological preoccupation with energy consumption and pollution. Masdar is a good example of city planning that joins architecture with environmental technology in anticipation of the “post-petroleum” era.
