Das vierte Drittel und die Poesie der Angst
Reto Camenisch
Reto Camenisch’s first encounter with death occurred when he was 6, when his father died as a result of a hunting accident; his second was in 2019, when he learned that he had cancer. He then began a new dialogue with his mind, his body and his work as a photographer in order to explore new situations. After an intense medical treatment, he began a five-week-long therapy at an Ayurvedic hospital in southern India. A stay marked by bouts of insomnia, daily walks and mental and physical introspection, during which he revisited his past and learned to accept the present. Through this experience, Camenisch developed a new relationship with images and representation. This exhibition gathers for the first time the work that he has created over the past three years, a visual investigation combining documentary photographs of the landscape and a daily diary, two things that supported him during his recovery.
