Le Champ Courbe II
Camille Aleña, Sylvain Menétrey

The Long Watch

What is he looking at?
Who is watching you?
The telescope embodies the dual lens of this fable of desire and contemplation.

Using different strategies and approaches, including documentary, performance art, object creation and narration, Camille Aleña creates links between multiple domains (music, visual arts, translation, ethnology, etc.) and different practices. For the 25th edition of the festival, the artist and Sylvain Menétrey will carry out the second part of a performance piece which was created for the previous edition of the festival, in May 2021. A flautist lying in front of a computer screen calls out with a crafted whistle to the corn bunting, a rare and now almost extinct bird, in one of its last bastions in the canton of Vaud, the Champ Courbe. A live video filmed of the Champ Courbe is transmitted directly into the Lokal-int, letting viewers of the piece lie in wait for the rare bird.
