For four years, Will Steacy tracked the Philadelphia Inquirer. His goal was to record the stages in the history of the newspaper in order to create a portrait in a broader context of the development of the American newspaper industry. Will Steacy is interested in the extent to which shifts in technology and the distribution of information over the Internet have affected not just the newspaper business (as Deadline illustrates) but also American society as a whole. In the loss of newspapers, he sees as well the loss of reporting, of society and of the self.
