Sheeps Don’t Forget a Face
Morgane Denzler
Morgane Denzler’s installations integrate the photographic image into a whole, translating her experience of places she has visited and attentively observed, in order to tell a story. In the rural area of Arques, she first became interested in the land registry. From one tree to the next, from fence to hedge, she has represented the landscape fragmented into piec-es by humans, showing the properties made visible by enclosures and barriers. She then represented physically the relationship between the shepherd, the herd and the landscape by means of a printed sheepskin. By subtly assembling images and shapes, Denzler examines the interdependence of landscape, human beings and animals, as well as the human desire to master nature at any cost.
