34°8’8.59”N | 118°20’48.61”O is a long take video made using Google Earth. The place depicted is the set built at Universal Studios in Los Angeles for Steven Spielberg’s 2005 film “War of the Worlds.” By making a long take of this location, I am trying to induce a feeling of confusion in the viewer.
In fact the set can still be visited today, and its reproduction on Google Earth gives it a certain air of reality: is it a real plane crash that is depicted or just a fake? A set within a set, the “fictionalization” of fiction.
