A useful guide to the properties in the refugee camp in Calais. The “Jungle” is a large residential area in the outskirts of Calais, France, surrounded by a metallic fence and equipped with running water and lights. More than 6,000 refugees used to live in the conditions shown here. Now the camp has been demolished. Here we imagine how it would have been to find a home in the camp. Behind this project there was a photographic project of nearly two years. We chose irony because we were tired of the way traditional media, as well as many photographers, talk about this topic, and we believe there is a need for alternative points of view and narratives.
